Dr. Michelle Dickinson (MNZM) is a world-renowned engineer and technology strategist with a mission to make complex ideas accessible, engaging, and impactful.

An award-winning keynote speaker, author, and media presenter, Michelle has advised some of the world’s largest technology companies around nanotechnology and helped many to navigate the future of innovation.

With a PhD in Biomedical and Materials Engineering, Michelle has built a unique career at the intersection of science, engineering, and emerging technologies. She has consulted for global corporations, guiding their approach to AI, quantum computing, and sustainable technology.  Her extensive academic publications span the fields of materials science and biomedical engineering using advanced nanomechanical techniques. 

As the founder of Matter Workshop, Michelle continues to pioneer engaging STEM education and corporate technology training, building on her legacy as the co-founder of Nanogirl Labs. 

She is also an Honorary Wing Commander in the Royal New Zealand Air Force, honorary academic in engineering at the University of Auckland and an internationally recognised leader in science communication.

Michelle’s ability to translate complex scientific advancements into engaging and thought-provoking conversations has made her a sought-after speaker on global stages, delivering keynote addresses on future technologies, sustainability, innovation under constraints, and the role of AI in shaping our world.
